Curriculum & Course Overview
Goal The course aims to provide Aerodrome Safety Obstacle Assessors with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to perform the proposed and existing structure assessment to safeguard aerodromes in efficient and effective manner in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations (ECAR 139) and ICAO standards. Learning Objectives • At the end of the course, the participants should be able to: • Identify Obstacle Limitation surfaces for the aerodrome. • • Assess the obstacles within the Obstacle Limitation Surfaces for a specified aerodrome. • • Determine the required mitigations for the penetrated obstacles. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Aerodrome Obstacles Limitation • Module 2 : Aerodrome Obstacle Assessment • Module 3 : Obstacle Mitigation Requirements Primary Target Population The Aerodrome Safety Obstacle Assessors. Secondary Audience: Inspectors and Regulators, Flight Procedures Designers, and Aerodrome Service Providers ATC, Airport Engineers and Pilots.
