Goal This course aims to provide Aeromedical Examiners with competencies required to perform Class 1 Medical Assessment in accordance with ICAO Doc. 8984 and ECAR Part 67. Learning Objectives • Explain physiology, psychology and clinical practice in relation to aerospace medicine • Identify the Medical Status of Class 1 Aviation professionals • Identify Cockpit Environment and Assess Applicants with Physical Impairment in Relation to Cockpit Tasks • Evaluate Human Factors in Aviation and their effects on aviation performance • Analyze Incidents and accidents from the medical perspectives • Assess health risks related to the "tropical medicine diseases" in different geographical areas. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Physiology, psychology and clinical practice in relation to aerospace medicine • Module 2 : Medical Status of Class 1 Aviation professionals • Module 3 : Cockpit Environment and Assess Applicants with Physical Impairment in Relation to Cockpit Tasks • Module 4 : Evaluate Human Factors in Aviation and their effects on aviation performance • Module 5 : Analyze Incidents and accidents from the medical perspectives • Module 6 : Assess health risks related to “tropical medicine diseases" in different geographical areas Primary Target Population Aeromedical Examiners Secondary Audience: Aeromedical Assessors Entry Requirements • Successful completion of “Aeromedical Examiner Course: Basic” • English Language Proficiency level 4 OR Equivalent
