Curriculum & Course Overview

Goal The course provides qualified ATC OJTI and STDI with the competencies for maintaining and enhancing their instructional techniques required to perform their duties in unit training environment in accordance with the ICAO competency framework for ATC on-the-job training instructors presented in the ICAO PANS-TRG Doc 9868 and Doc 10056 Manual on Air Traffic Controller Competency-based Training and Assessment, Volume II — On-the-job Training Instructor (OJTI). Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Apply up-to-date planning procedures for training; • ·       Prepare to deliver a tailored training session; • Manage a trainee based on existing OJTI and STDI roles; • ·       Conduct a training session considering up-to-date training techniques; • ·       Ensure safety and efficiency of the operation during training; • ·       Comply with human factor principles during training; • Evaluate the performance of the trainee; • Perform evaluation of the effectiveness of the training. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Organization of Training • Module 2 : Human Factors • Module 3 : Training Delivery • Module 4 : Evaluation Primary Target Population Qualified Air Traffic Controllers with OJTI/STDI endorsement. Secondary Audience: Aviation industry professionals involved in ATC training who have or have held ATC license: managers of ANS providers, CAA representatives, instructors of aviation training organizations, etc. Entry Requirements • Have or have held ATC license with the OJTI or STDI endorsement; • Have a good command of English (for primary target population - at least ICAO Level 4).
