Goal The course aims to provide the AIS/GIS Officers with knowledge, skills and attitudes required to develop the Aeronautical Charts effectively and efficiently in accordance with ICAO Doc. 8697, ECAR 311 Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to • Interpret Geodesy Datums, Projections and coordinate system • Identify Aeronautical Cartography Structure and contents • Classify aeronautical charts • Draw Aeronautical Charts as a Practical Training by AUTO CAD tools Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Geodesy Datums, Projections and Coordinate System • Module 2 : Identify aeronautical cartography structure and contents • Module 3 : Primary Target Population AIS Officers Aeronautical Information Service GIS Geographic information System specialist Secondary Audience: Surveyor Engineers and AIS Supervisors Entry Requirements • University degree or equivalent, preferable in Geography • 2 years background in the field of AIS • Fluent in spoken and written English.
