Curriculum & Course Overview
Goal The course provides firefighting supervisory personnel with the competencies to consistently use breathing apparatus in search and rescue command and control operations in accordance with the Changi Airport Emergency Plan and Emergency Services Operations Manual Standards on breathing apparatus operations. Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Respond to emergency • Monitor status of rescue team using breathing apparatus entry control board • Select strategies and tactics for breathing apparatus search and rescue operations • Oversee post emergency procedures Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Responding to Emergency • Module 2 : Monitoring Status of Rescue Team using BA Entry Control Board • Module 3 : Selecting Strategies and Tactics for BA Search and Rescue Operations • Module 4 : Overseeing Post Emergency Procedures Primary Target Population Firefighting supervisors (Airport Firefighting Officers or equivalent) responsible for executing command and control procedures, when leading firefighters using breathing apparatus in search and rescue operations. Secondary Audience: Immediate superiors of the Airport Firefighting Officers (Duty Officers or equivalent) and Operations Commanders who need the training to carry out their job effectively. Entry Requirements • Have completed basic breathing apparatus operations training or equivalent. • Be in a supervisory position for at least one year.
