Curriculum & Course Overview
Goal This course will provide aviation personnel with competencies to evaluate heliports within their State based on standards and recommended practices in Annex 14 Vol 2 Heliports and the Heliport Manual, Doc 9261. Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Calculate the required dimensions and design loads for a heliport • Calculate the layout of a heliport’s airspace • Respond to emergencies associated with heliports • Conduct an evaluation of a heliport Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Heliport Design Criteria • Module 2 : Heliport Airspace • Module 3 : Heliport Emergency Planning • Module 4 : Heliport Assessment Primary Target Population The target audience for this course is aviation professionals charged with the oversight, design, and compliance of heliports. Secondary Audience: The secondary target audience for this course includes stakeholders involved in operating heliports, stakeholders involved in certifying heliports, stakeholders who build and maintain heliports, and stakeholders responsible for accident investigation. Entry Requirements • No pre-requisites for this course.
