ICAO English Language Proficiency Interlocutor/Rater Recurrent Training

Curriculum & Course Overview

Goal The aim of this recurrent training is to ensure that knowledge, skill and attitude of ICAO language proficiency interlocutors/raters is maintained and updated so that they are able to continue conducting interviews effectively and assessing the language proficiency level of pilots and air traffic controllers objectively, in accordance with the ICAO language proficiency requirements stipulated in the relevant ICAO annexes and guidance material. Learning Objectives • The objectives of the course is to enable ICAO language proficiency raters to: • • Prepare an interview; • • Conduct an interview; • • Rate recorded speech samples; • • Complete post rating activities. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Conducting IELP Test • Module 2 : Rating Recorded Speech Primary Target Population • ICAO Language proficiency interlocutors/raters Secondary Audience: • Aviation English language instructors • Personnel licensing inspectors Entry Requirements • Hold a valid certificate issued by a State civil aviation authority as an ICAO Language Proficiency Interlocutor/Rater for pilots and/or air traffic controllers
