Curriculum & Course Overview

Goal This course will provide the meteorological equipment maintenance personnel with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes required to apply maintenance procedures of meteorological systems equipment in accordance with the “Rules of the Meteorological Service of Civil Aviation" (RK №345). Learning Objectives • After having successfully completed this course, the trainees will be able to: • apply installation procedures of meteorological equipment and systems; • apply procedures of continuous monitoring of meteorological equipment and systems; • apply maintenance procedures of meteorological equipment and systems; • apply procedures of faults diagnostic and repair of meteorological equipment and systems; • ensure safe work environment; • appreciate human factors principles during maintenance of meteorological equipment and systems. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Aviation Foundation • Module 2 : Installation and Preparation for Operation of Meteorological Equipment and Systems • Module 3 : Monitoring of Meteorological Equipment and Systems • Module 4 : Maintenance of Meteorological Equipment and Systems • Module 5 : Fault Diagnosis and Repair of Meteorological Equipment and Systems • Module 6 : Human Factors (including Threat and Error Management) • Module 7 : Safety Management Primary Target Population Meteorological equipment maintenance personnel who perform or will perform the maintenance procedures of meteorological equipment and systems. Secondary Audience: Managers or specialists in the field of maintenance of meteorological equipment and systems, CAA inspectors in the field of the meteorological service. Entry Requirements • Course is designed for: • persons, who have technical (secondary, high education, Bachelor or Mastery degree) or military education with specialization in the field of radio and/or electronic equipment; • persons, who is fluent in spoken and written Russian, the level of English is not lower than Elementary.
