Curriculum & Course Overview
Goal The course will provide licensed pilots with the necessary skills to anticipate safe flying within mountainous areas, including valleys, strips, and high altitudes, in accordance with ICAO Annex 6 Part II. Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Plan the preparation of the airplane for the departure from an airstrip or a runway in a mountainous area • Plan all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all phases of flight • Check aircraft limitations for all phases of a flight in a mountainous area Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Flight Preparation • Module 2 : SOPs for all phases of flight • Module 3 : Aircraft Performance in Mountainous areas Primary Target Population Licensed Commercial Pilots flying in mountainous areas. Secondary Audience: Licensed Private Pilots flying in mountainous areas; Military Pilots flying in mountainous areas. Entry Requirements • For primary target population: • Valid Commercial Pilot License. • For secondary target population: • Valid PPL License or Military Pilot ratings.
