Goal The aim of this course is to enable pilots acquire the necessary knowledge, skill and attitude so that they will correctly and effectively use standardized phraseology while communicating with air traffic controllers and other ground personnel to ensure safe, efficient and orderly flow of air traffic in accordance with ICAO standards and recommended practices. Learning Objectives • Establish radio communication • Carry out departure communication • Carry out enroute communication • Carry out arrival communication • Carry out abnormal and emergency communication Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Basics of Radiotelephony • Module 2 : Departure Communications • Module 3 : Enroute Communications • Module 4 : Arrival Communications • Module 5 : Abnormal and Emergency Communications Primary Target Population Ab-initio pilot trainees admitted to the aviation academy to be trained as pilots. Secondary Audience: Flight operation officers Aviation English instructors, and Aeronautical radio station operators. Entry Requirements • Completion of secondary high school • Able to read, speak, write and understand the English language
