Curriculum & Course Overview

Goal This course will provide Aviation Safety Inspectors with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to conduct assessment and monitoring of SMS in accordance with ICAO Annex 19 - Safety Management and ICAO Doc 9859 - Safety Management Manual. Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Perform onsite review for SMS acceptance • • Assess safety performance monitoring • • Conduct periodic audit / assessment of SMS Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Acceptance of Safety Management System • Module 2 : Acceptance and Monitoring of Safety Performance • Module 3 : Periodic Audit/Assessment of SMS Primary Target Population Aviation Safety Inspectors Secondary Audience: Personnel involved in State Safety Programme, i.e. Administrators / Managers Service Providers’ SMS Manager Service Providers’ Safety Action Group personnel involved in SMS implementation Entry Requirements • Have attended SMS implementation or equivalent courses • Minimum 2 years experience in assessing/implementing SMS
