Curriculum & Course Overview

Goal The course aims to provide Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) Users in Hong Kong with the necessary competencies for operational readiness of SUA (Category A/B) in accordance with the Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) Order (Cap. 448G) of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) of Hong Kong. Learning Objectives • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Interpret the theoretical knowledge and regulations related to advanced operations of SUA; • Apply risk-based assessment methods to plan and manage SUA operations safely and efficiently; • Identify safe environment for conducting SUA operations in normal and emergency situations. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : SUA Regulatory Framework • Module 2 : Risk-based Assessment for SUA Operations • Module 3 : Conducting SUA operations in normal and emergency situations Primary Target Population New applicants who intend to apply for CAD Remote Pilot Basic or Ratings registration in the near future. Secondary Audience: Existing SUA users seeking to align their knowledge and skills with updated regulatory requirements Personnel involved in SUA administration, risk management, or operations, such as surveying inspection, and media applications. Entry Requirements • Advanced level of English
