Curriculum & Course Overview
Goal To equip the DME Maintenance Engineer with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain THALES DME for a smooth and uninterrupted service. Learning Objectives • On completion of this course the trainee will be able to: • Apply the (SARPs) as stated in ICAO Annex 10, Volume I to the maintenance of DME • Identify the THALES DME module and explain its operation • Monitor the operational characteristics of THALES DME modules and locate the faulty module • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of Thales DME for smooth and uninterrupted operations as per the prescribed maintenance schedule Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : PERFORM DAILY MAINTENANCE OF THALES DME • Module 2 : PERFORM WEEKLY MAINTENANCE OF THALES DME • Module 3 : PERFORM MONTHLY MAINTENANCE OF THALES DME • Module 4 : PERFORM SIX MONTHLY MAINTENANCE OF THALES DME • Module 5 : PERFORM ANNUAL MAINTENANCE OF THALES DME • Module 6 : Perform Ground Adjustment during Flight Check • Module 7 : Corrective maintenance of Thales DME Primary Target Population Personnel who are currently assigned or about to be assigned maintenance duties at the THALES DME. Secondary Audience: Not applicable Entry Requirements • 'Engineering’ Degree in Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Electrical. • Science Graduates/ Diploma after qualifying in an eligibility exam
