Curriculum & Course Overview

Goal The Training Developers Course (TDC) provides civil aviation course developers with the competencies to design and develop Standardized Training Packages (STPs), in accordance with the ICAO Doc 9941, Training Development Guide. Learning Objectives • After successfully completing the course, participants will be able to: • Conduct a preliminary study; • Conduct a job analysis; • Conduct a population analysis; • Design the curriculum; • Design the modules; • Establish validity and reliability of tests; • Establish validity of a training course. Structure • Module 0 : Introduction • Module 1 : Preliminary Study • Module 2 : Job Analysis • Module 3 : Population analysis • Module 4 : Design of Curriculum • Module 5 : Design of Modules • Module 6 : Production and Developmental Testing • Module 7 : Validation Primary Target Population Civil aviation course developers who wish to develop competency-based training courses. Secondary Audience: Instructors who wish to enhance their course development skills for instructor‑dependent material; Training managers, supervisors and professionals who want to increase their productivity as developers of training and educational programmes. Entry Requirements • Experience in one or more civil aviation fields or in human resources development and training; • Experience in the preparation of a wide range of training aids and their effective incorporation into a training programme (desirable); • Computer skills using contemporary software programmes; and • Good oral and written command of the language of instruction.
